We promised to keep the announcements coming as regularly as possible – and today it’s the Jet Provost T3 and display pilot Neil McCarthy.

Neil, based at Newcastle Airport in the North East of England, and a bona fide Geordie himself, is one of the UK airshow scene’s most popular characters, and he and his aircraft get around to numerous events across the country.

The Jet Provost was the Royal Air Force’s primary jet trainer for many years, first flying in the 1950s and not retiring from active service until 1993.

Neil’s JP is a Mark 3 and it is really the only example of that mark that we see displaying in this country with any regularity, while Neil is now one of the UK’s most experienced civilian Jet Provost pilots, with more than 500 hours on the type.

He put on an excellent display at the show last year, and we are sure that you will all enjoy watching him again this time round.
