The Royal Air Force’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Grob Tutor will both appear at this year’s airshow.

Six Rolls Royce Merlin engines will appear in unison when the BBMF’s Avro Lancaster, Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane appear at Throckmorton Air Show on Saturday 6 June.

It will be the first time the Lancaster has appeared at the airshow and marks a welcome return to the former RAF Pershore for the legendary bomber, Pathfinder variants of which used the site operationally during World War II.

The BBMF’s appearance at the show, in this year, the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, is of course a fitting and exciting addition to the display programme, and is sure to draw in an even bigger crowd.

That’s not all, for the RAF is also sending another display – the Grob Tutor elementary training aircraft. Based at RAF Cranwell, display pilot Flt Lt Andy Preece is hugely experienced and really does wring maximum performance from the diminutive trainer so we are very much looking forward to seeing him fly for us too.

Throckmorton Air Show is on Saturday 6 June and remember, admission is by advance ticket ONLY.
